Lydia Renee Phillips

Standing 5’4” tall with grey eyes and brown hair, Lydia is the 18-year-old daughter of Jennifer and Garrett Phillips of Philippi. This 2022 magna cum laude graduate of Philip Barbour High School is currently a Freshman at West Virginia Wesleyan. Lydia’s activities while at Philip Barbour were soccer where she went to states for 2 years, and track where she achieved 2 nd place in 300 hurdles and 2 nd place in the 4x100 relay team. She was also on the swim team and was a member of the Philip Barbour Colt Marching Band, where she played saxophone and was a twirler.

Lydia lists her hobbies as reading, writing, twirling, running, and working out. In her community, Lydia helps with the annual Philip Barbour Band twirler for a day event. She is currently employed at the Barbour County Club. At West Virginia Wesleyan she is studying criminal justice and runs track. Upon graduation she plans to pursue a career with the ATF or join the United States Air Force. Three words to describe Lydia are outgoing, considerate and leader.

Lydia lists her favorite thing about Barbour County as: the Blue and Gray Festival and the covered bridge. The festival is a great chance to learn about our county history as well as it brings the community and businesses together and brings tourists to town. She wants to be the next Miss Barbour County because “I would be a great representative of Barbour County because I have great leadership skills, compassion, and outgoing personality. I would use this as an opportunity to become more involved in the county and the pageant and fair community.
